Jira is amazing. Not only is she beautiful but she is also a very kind person. The thing I valued most able Jira is her honesty. So many vendors will tell you want to hear---not Jira---she straight up tells you the truth. You don't know how much I appreciated that.

She did an outstanding job helping me create the "look" I wanted for my wedding---1920s old Hollywood. My make-up and hair never looked so great. They looked so good, I now have her cut, color, and style my hair on a regular basis at her salon in San Mateo! Her team also did H & M for 6 other people in my wedding. All were pleased with her work and looked great.

Finally, Jira made communication super easy. She is very responsive over email, always returning calls/emails within 24 hours. Her contracting is straight forward and she was even EARLY to do my H & M on wedding day.

Jira did my hair and make up on my wedding day! I am very impressed with her work because she listens to what I want. On our trial day, I had a lot of pictures that I wanted but did not know what to choose, it was really nice that Jira listened and expressed her opinions on how the hair will be and how it will stay and what hair style fits with how my veil was and gown was. It was all professionally done and the make up - it was beautiful! It wasn't overdone and it stayed on all night! I wanted to have a natural look and I felt really beautiful on my wedding! 

Jira is a true artist on how to enhance your beauty! I love Jira's personality as well, she is very kind and she has a good team! I highly recommend her!

I hired Jira and her team to do hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my future sister-in-law, and the mothers. Jira is the owner and head makeup artist for WowPretty. She is very talented and she makes what she does look effortless. Her team is professional, friendly, and, most importantly, very good at what they do. Jira did a terrific job at my hair & makeup trial and it was a no brainer to hire her. Additionally, if you want a guy's opinion, my now husband thought my hair and makeup from the trial looked great too. She has tons of experience and her website shows all the brides she has worked with and the positive testimonials. She's very responsive via email. On the wedding day, she and her team showed up promptly and efficiently got to work since we had so many people. 

The final product was gorgeous - natural, not overworked; it didn't even feel like I had makeup on. The airbrushing is awesome. It makes your skin look so smooth. Everyone was satisfied with their hair and makeup. I can vouch that all of the women's hair held up the entire night. It rained during my ceremony and my makeup still held. I thought her prices were reasonable given the quality product I was getting. With Jira and her team helping you on the day of, it's one less thing you need to worry about. As a bride, that's gold.

I had no idea how I wanted my hair until the day of my wedding, even though I had seen Jira twice before. I brought some pictures with me on my wedding day and Jira did a wonderful job - even better than I was hoping/expecting! I LOVED my hair & it stayed in place all night. I have super thick, heavy hair and it never stays in place so I was impressed.

Makeup was pretty and natural - just the way I like. I had the airbrushing done so it was nice and light but super smooth.

Jira's prices are also reasonable compared to a lot out there!

I am glad I splurged on my makeup and hair. Everyone was complementing on how beautiful my hair and makeup looked. She did wonders to me!!! My makeup lasted through out the day (over 11 hours). I just had to retouch with some powder now and then, but my makeup held up. I am amazed at what she did, she accentuated my features and made me look elegant. How are you and your team of girls? We had a wonderful time at our wedding and the day started with Wowpretty! I want to thank you, Sylvie, Elena and Amy for the awesome job they did with our hair and makeup. They arrived right on time, was very professional and efficient! And of course, they were all super nice and attentive. Sylvie listened to what I wanted for my hair and makeup and did a fantastic job. I looked like myself but better! The moms and my bridesmaids were also gorgeous! I asked if Elena would put some concealer on my husband's 2 pimples and she did a very good job.

This is an overdue review. Wowpretty did hair and makeup for our wedding last September. At the time of booking, Jira herself was already booked, so I had a trial with senior stylist Sylvie. The trial went well. Jira was there to help me figure out the look I wanted. After the trial, there were a few minor things I wanted changed (like putting my hair up a little higher etc).

On wedding day, Sylvie, Elena and Amy arrived right on time and was very professional and efficient! And of course, they were all super nice and attentive. Sylvie listened to what I wanted for my hair and makeup and did a fantastic job! I looked like myself but better! Exactly what I wanted! Between the 3 of them, they did hair and makeup for 4 bridesmaids, 2 moms and myself. The moms and my bridesmaids were gorgeous! I asked if Elena would put some concealer on my husband's  pimples and she did a very good job. Hair and makeup (airbrushed) stayed on ALL day! My wedding day was about 13 hours. Also, everyone looked great in our wedding photos.

I highly recommend Wowpretty. These girls are pros and they do wonderful work! Thank you Wowpretty! =D

I just thought I would add to the plethora of 5 star reviews even though you don't need mine to convince you that Jira is fabulous.

So in the most succinct words... you get what you pay for... as a bride we try to disprove this but it's true. I am one of those brides that wanted Jira... couldn't quite afford her... tried out another hair/makeup artist, had a horrible trial... bucked up and went with Jira. I didn't even do a trial with Jira I was so confident in her abilities (and also it wasn't quite in my budget)... but I am SOOOO glad I did go with Jira and she did a superb job!

I saw a lot of Asian brides in her portfolio and so wasn't sure how it would go me being a white girl... but boy let me tell you... she was great and my favorite part was what she did with my hair... on the spot... just looking at a few photos of the kind of styles I like and poof... amazing updo!

Jira-I said to you the day of my wedding and I want to say it again... you are my hero and my favorite vendor out of my entire wedding experience! I heart U.

Jira is amazing! I worked with Jira for my engagement session and also on my wedding day. She is very good about listening to what I want and was able to create the looks that I wanted for my engagement session and my wedding. She and her team worked on me and my 3 bridesmaids and everyone looked so beautiful! On my wedding day, I had originally wanted my hair down. It was an outdoor ceremony, but just my luck, there were STRONG winds outside. Jira was quick, calm, and collected with plan B and ended up giving me a beautiful updo and it stayed put! Jira and her team are very professional -- they arrived a few minutes early and finished in time for my wedding photo sessions to begin. This type of professionalism is so important because you do not need added stress on your wedding day.

Jira is fabulous! She's a true artist who helped me feel gorgeous on my wedding day. What I loved about Jira is that she was willing to accommodate all my requests and worked with me on the price so that all my bridesmaids and mom could get something done. I had two trial sessions with her and at first was a little unsure of the hairstyle. But Jira assured me that once my hair was cut in layers, it would all work out.

On the wedding day, Jira and her assistant arrived on time with suitcases full of makeup and hair accessories. They made everyone look beautiful and their work lasted through the night and into the next day! If you want to feel gorgeous, visit Jira and her team!

My make-up artist, Jira. She has motor hands. She finished my make up + hair in no time! As we are not hiring her for the whole day, I need my make up and hair to be long lasting and to fit both my wedding gown and evening dress well. The job was perfectly done. I need NO touch-ups during the day except reapplying some lip color. The make up + hair stay fresh after a whole day of OUTDOOR photo shoot, including one hour at the windy Chrissy Field. She also gave us great advice on the choice of hair flower - she suggested us to use two different tones of orchid. Orchid stays fresh all day even without water, and the color goes well with both my white dress and red dress. You are superb, Jira!! :)

I so love Jira and her team at Wowpretty! They are a group of true professionals that will take care of you on your wedding day and I wouldn't have found her if it hadn't been for all the awesome yelp revews she already had.

I booked a trial session in March for my June wedding. Jira was great about listening to me but also giving me her opinions of what would work vs. what wouldn't. She has a very scrutinizing eye so I know she catches every detail and takes great pride in her work. She also sent pictures after the trial and was very responsive to my questions. One reason I knew I liked Jira was not just her skill but also the fact that she will answer your emails promptly. It's always helpful for the bride-to-be to know her vendors are available when she needs them!

On the day of the wedding, Jira focused only on my hair and makeup while she had one assistant doing hair for my bridesmaids and mom and another doing makeup for them. I never imagined that I would be totally relaxed on the day of my wedding but once Jira started working her magic, the only thing I worried about was making sure someone got me my Starbucks! She also had hair and makeup done in plenty of time and I felt amazing. My bridesmaids and mom looked beautiful as well. The best thing was my hair stayed perfect despite the wind at our outdoor ceremony and the makeup didn't look any different after a few hours of dancing. Thank you Jira!!!

I just got married on August 22, 2009 in Santa Clara, and Jira was my hairstylist and makeup artist... She also did one of my bridesmaid's hairdos and my mom's makeup, and all 3 of us could not have been happier with her work! First of all, let me say that it is SO convenient to have someone who is talented at BOTH hair and makeup, who can come to your venue on your wedding day, and who can beautify multiple people in a very efficient amount of time (she has a whole team, but was able to handle all of us, plus a makeup touchup on my groom, in 2h all by herself)!

But Jira is MORE than talented: she is super super sweet and positive and really listens to her client's needs. When I had my hairstyle/makeup trial with her back in December 2008, she gave me her expert opinion on which hairstyle/makeup colors would work best for me, but she also wanted to know what *I* wanted and liked, and what my mom thought as well. The airbrushing was incredible: so refreshing and light and perfectly matched to my skin. Later, when I worried that my blush and eye color might be too bright for my wedding day, she was quick to appease and also assure me that she would do exactly what I wanted (and of course - it came out perfectly!).

I overheard her interacting with my bridesmaid and mother too, and she treated them equally respectfully and sweetly. Also, when I had my trial for hair, Jira put extensions in to demonstrate what it would look like when I was to get married 8 months later...which was a really great way to envision what I wanted! About 4 days before the wedding, I booked Jira for a haircut, to prep me for the big day. I loved the cut even by itself - she thinned out and layered my hair so that my wedding hairstyle would work; she also gave me a deep condition that made my hair super soft and shiny. Finally, importantly, on the wedding day my makeup and hair actually LASTED for the entire 12 hours that I needed it to. This despite the fact that I was dancing, sweating and didn't have any time to touch up.

I love Jira and highly recommend her!

Jira was amazing to work with! I got married in August '09 and had my hair and make-up trial with her in October '08. I brought along inspiration photos to my trial session and Jira was really attentive to what I wanted for my wedding day. She was very sweet, relaxed, and easy to talk to. She was also able to recreate my inspiration photos perfectly!

I was extremely pleased with my trial and Jira's work that I booked her again for my engagement photos in June '09. She again recreated exactly what I wanted and I received a lot of compliments on my make-up and hair.

On our wedding day, Jira exceeded all expectations again! She made me feel relaxed and at ease which was very important. She also took her time and paid attention to detail. Jira also did hair and make-up for my mom. My mom's not very knowledgeable in this area and she doesn't really wear much make-up. However, my mom loved Jira's work and said she felt beautiful and received many compliments from her friends and family.

Jira used airbrush make-up and individual fake eyelashes on me, which I highly recommend. My hair and make-up lasted all day (12+ hours) and I didn't even have to re-touch once! I also received lots of compliments from friends and family. Even though it is one day, the money spent on hair and make-up was well worth it especially if it's with Jira. And you'll have gorgeous wedding photos to show for it =) It's important to have a hair and make-up artist that really listens to you and that you really trust.

Jira defnitely succeeded in making me feel sexy and look like a bride on my wedding day! Thank you so much , Jira!

Review long overdue...I used Jira and her team for my wedding hair and makeup last year and was pleased with the results. I visited her for a hair and makeup trial, where we did an up do and down do hairstyle. I was pleased with the results. I actually did a hair trial elsewhere, and my hair fell out of the style after only a couple of hours. That sealed the deal for me. Being Asian, it was really important to find someone who knew how to work with Asian hair and apply makeup on the sisters. I've had countless disasters of past makeup applications (sorry, yellow and mango eyeshadow do NOT look good on me; no, I have no eyelid flap so yes, contouring on me will be different; no, I don't want Asian princess bride look, sorry...).

The makeup felt great on my wedding day, didn't run, and my hair was awesome. She did a great job on my hair, which is really thick and sometimes hard to curl.

In sum, Jira is really nice and friendly, and a total kick. I would totally recommend her to anybody looking to do their hair and/or makeup for their wedding or any special occasion. Ladies, it is well worth the money spent to look gorgeous for your wedding day.
